Jan. 18

• A caller reported snow boulders were posing a traffic hazard on the corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Michigan Avenue. Officers responded and removed soft clumps from roadway.

• A caller reported an alarm going off at a business on Highway 2. Sheriff’s officers responded and reported the doors were locked and everything was clear.

• A minor in possession of tobacco was cited on Louisiana Avenue.

• A woman on Louisiana Avenue was threatened and slapped by a man who fled on foot. Libby police responded and arrested the man for simple assault.

• A caller on Kootenai Vista reported a man drove off in her daughter’s car. Sheriff’s officers responded and were on the lookout for the vehicle.

• A man from Idaho requested a welfare check for his brother and nephew on Dawson Street.

• Officers responded to a call to remove two drunken men from the train depot. The men were removed and said they would find a place to stay for the night.

Jan. 19

• A caller on Swamp Creek Road reported what appeared to be a fire. It was later determined to be lights from the city.

• A man on Timber Lane reported his wife was missing and left footprints leading away from their home. Sheriff’s officers responded and the woman was later located.

• A caller on Florence Road reported a woman at her residence refusing to leave. They said it was a civil issue and agreed to work it out.

• A caller on Quartz Avenue reported a dog bite. The dog was determined to be a loaner dog and folks from the dog shelter apprehended the dog.

• A caller on Vicks Lane reported a black vehicle speeding through the area.

• A 39-year-old man was arrested by Montana Highway Patrol on an outstanding warrant and turned over to Troy Police.

• A caller reported a domestic disturbance on Commerce Way. The parties were separated after the verbal altercation.

• A woman brought a purse to the sheriff’s lobby which she found near the American Legion ball field on 2nd Street.

Jan. 20

• A caller on Main Avenue reported the theft of a vehicle from their property.

• A caller on Montana Avenue reported a mother and baby moose near the Kootenai Valley Christian School.

• A local grocery store employee requested an officer to pick up a shoplifter apprehended at the store.

Jan. 22

• A 21-year-old man on Commerce Way was arrested on a charge of sexual assault.

• A woman from Main Avenue brought a copy of a fraudulent Internet advertisement into the sheriff’s office to make a complaint.

• A local motel manager reported a verbal disturbance. The man walked away, the woman confirmed it was a verbal disturbance, not physical. The man was trespassed from the property.

• A man reported his neighbor’s pit bull attacked his dog, causing injuries requiring veterinary care.

• A caller on Milnor Lake reported friends being chased from the lake by a man armed with a shotgun.

• A 44-year-old man was arrested at a Libby bar for assault.

• A woman called the sheriff’s office asking to have a drunk male removed from her house. Officers were unable to locate the man.

Jan. 23

• A man on Big Timber Lane reported the theft of several items from a job site sometime between Jan. 10 and Jan. 19.

• A woman on 2nd Street requested extra patrols of her neighborhood after discovering a sex offender lives in the area.

• Deputies responded to a call on Vicks Drive and separated two sisters from a verbal altercation. One woman was transported to a local motel.

Jan. 24

• An employee of a local gas station provided video of a theft to police.

• A caller on Park Street reported a dog problem.

• A caller on Bull Lake Road reported a car parked in his driveway, thought he might be able to get around it. The registered owner was notified and agreed to move the vehicle.

• A nurse from a Helena hospital called to report a dog bite which occurred in Libby.

• A called on Farm To Market Road called to report two boxers running loose in the street.

• A caller near Swamp Creek reported an individual cutting firewood and rolling it down the hill, some rolled onto the highway.
