William R. (Bill) Rowberry
Our beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, William R. (Bill) Rowberry, 67, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Bill was born Oct. 17, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Monte and Patricia Rowberry. He graduated from Soda Springs High School in 1965. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He received an honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1970.
Following his discharge from the service, Bill came to Libby to visit his parents. He loved Libby so much that he decided to stay. Bill worked for St. Regis Paper Company, Champion International and Stimson, retiring in October 2008. He met the love of his life, Clarise Mellem, in December of 1984 and they married Feb. 10, 1989.
Bill had many passions in life. First and foremost was his family and friends. He loved fishing, hunting, and baseball. However, golfing was a major part of his life. On May 6, 1994, Bill hit a hole-in-one on hole number 3, a golfer’s dream.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Monte Rowberry; sister, Linda Dabel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and Clarence Mellem; and sister-in-law, Jane Mellem.
He is survived by his wife Clarise; his mother Patricia Rowberry; his son Roy (Brenda) Rowberry; his daughters Kendra (Richard) Addicott and Jami Britton; grandchildren Raina, Shannon, Olie, Levi, Shaelyne, Heath, Rachel and Kevin; sisters Julie (Ron) Adamson and Carol Gay; brothers-in-law Carl Dabel, Doug Mellem, Jerry (Vicki) Mellem, and Peter (Jeanine) Mellem; and sister-in-law Carol (Ron) Addicott.
A memorial service for Bill will be held from 2p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, at the Cabinet View Golf Course Clubhouse. Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory.
