Christine Mary Challinor

Christine Mary Challinor, 64, of Great Falls, passed away at her home on March 2, 2015, of natural causes. Services will be announced at a later date.

Christine was born Dec. 25, 1950, in Libby to Harold and Eileen Craig, but was lovingly raised and cared for by her grandparents Harold and Dorothy Bitterman.  

Christine graduated from Libby High School and went on to get her cosmetology license at Mr. Rich’s School of Cosmetology in Missoula. On July 22, 1967, in Libby, she was joined in marriage to Charles A. Challinor Jr., with whom she had two beautiful daughters and one handsome son.  

While living in Libby, she worked for a few different local businesses, including Mac’s Market, Poppe Shoppe and at Youth Court Services. She then moved to Great Falls where she proudly accepted a position at the Malmstrom Air Force Base Barber Shop and at N.E.W. (National Electronics Warranty).

Christine was a very talented artist of many eclectic avenues. She enjoyed arts and crafts, time spent with her beloved horses and animals and riding her four-wheelers whenever time and weather allowed.

She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Challinor of Great Falls; daughters, Tanya (Wayne) Gutierrez of Great Falls, Ada (Zeb) Kelley of Missoula; sister, Sandy Shoemaker of Harrison, Idaho; brother, Carl Craig of Libby; grandchildren, Christopher (Brittany) Challinor of Great Falls, Beau Kelley of Missoula, Seth Gutierrez and Sydney Gutierrez, both of Great Falls; great-grandchild Ashton Challinor; niece Lori (Kenny) Christensen of St. Maries, Idaho; and many more nieces and nephews.

Those who have preceded Christine in death include her son, Anthony Challinor; parents, Harold and Eileen Craig; and grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Bitterman.
