Sue Rawlings Hotzel

Sue Rawlings Hotzel, 79, passed away on Feb. 23, 2015. She was born on Dec. 20, 1935, on the bank of the Kootenai River in a cabin near Libby to Carl Denzil and Margaret Grant Hunter Rawlings. After graduating from Libby High School, she attended college in Havre, where she met and married Arthur Doman.  

She lived in various states on the East Coast, Ohio and Texas, before moving back to Havre with her husband and three children. After her divorce, she married William Hotzel and welcomed his three children to her family. Bill and Sue lived in Havre until moving to Libby, where Bill passed away. Two and a half years ago, Sue moved to Walla Walla, Wash., to live with her daughter until she passed away.

Sue loved to read, write stories about her family history, take long walks, make friends and talk with her children.

Sue is survived by her six children Patricia Hurin, Everett Dolman, Deborah Sudan, William Hotzel, Roberta Potter, and Joe Hotzel. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, cousins, extended family and friends will miss her.

There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 The Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, Wash., 99362.
