The Libby Loggers ended their season in the loser-out game of the Northwest A division tournament on Saturday, falling 46-38 to Whitefish.

The Loggers trailed early, 6-10, after the first quarter, but didn’t fold. They kept even with the Bulldogs in the second, taking just a four-point deficit into the locker room at the half.

The third quarter was another hard-fought battle, with the Loggers coming out on top, 11-10. In the final period, though, Whitefish pulled away, outscoring the Loggers 13 to eight to emerge with the eight-point win.

Collin Johnson led the Loggers with 13 points. Jonny Cielak added 10. Also contributing were Michael Curtiss, with six points, Erik Lauer, four, Luke Adamson, three, and Colin Maloney, two, rounded out Libby’s scorers.

Libby finished the regular season at 3-15, and lost both of their games at the divisional tournament, to Frenchtown and Whitefish. Columbia Falls and Polson advance to the state tournament.
