Library has several events planned for July
The Lincoln County Public Libraries have a full calendar of events scheduled for July. All library events are free and open to the public.
Each of the three branches of the library offer free story time for preschool-aged children. Libby’s story time is 10 a.m. every Tuesday. The Troy branch holds story time at 11:15 a.m. on Fridays and the Eureka branch hosts theirs at 11:30 a.m. on Thursdays.
The Troy library hosts chess games every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Players of all ages and experience levels are welcome to come play or just enjoy watching matches. Some boards are available, but players who are able are encouraged to bring their favorite board.
The Lincoln County libraries are engaged in Operation Paperback this month, sending lightly used paperbacks to military service members overseas.
The library is holding a short story and art contest. Create a piece of art or a short story (no longer than 5,000 words) that illustrates this idea: A man sprints down the sidewalk, looking over his shoulder. Half a block away, someone is chasing and gaining on him. Why is the man running? Is he a good guy running from evil? Is he the villain? Submit entries to the Libby library by 6 p.m. August 15.
