Loggers split double-header with Kalispell

The Libby Loggers split a double-header with the Kalispell Lakers Wednesday evening at Lee Gehring Field.
The Loggers won the opening game by sinking the Lakers 19-7. They then dropped a heartbreaker in the second game falling to the Lakers 12-10.
In the first game the Loggers racked up 18 hits in four innings during their 19-7 victory. They were able to push across 14 runs during the first three innings.
Luke Haggerty set the table picking up four hits and scoring three runs out of his leadoff spot. Haggerty had two extra base hits, picking up a double and a triple.
The Loggers had two players hit home runs in the game. Trace Tammarro and Oliver Grupenhoff both went yard. Tamarro and Grupenhoff both had three hits on the night as well. Grupenhoff and Tamarro combined to drive in eight of the 19 Logger runs.
The Loggers seventh inning rally in the second game came up short, as they fell to the Lakers 12-10. The Loggers scored three runs in the seventh inning, but failed to force extra innings.
Grupenhoff picked up a pair of doubles and drove in three runs for the Loggers.
Jared Winslow scored three runs and drove in one run. Lauer had an RBI double in the sixth inning.
The Loggers are now 6-13 on the season and will be playing in a tournament this weekend in Seattle. They will be playing a double-header on Monday, June 22 at Lee Gehring Field. First pitch will be 5:05 p.m.
