Geuther named to WSU President’s Honor Roll
Washington State University recently announced their President’s Honor Roll for the 2015 spring semester. Rachel Ann Geuther, from Troy, was one of the recipients.
To be eligible a student must earn a grade point average of 3.75 or earn a 3.50 cumulative grade point average based on 15 cumulative hours of graded work.
Jackie Mee named to Carroll College dean’s list
Libby native Jackie Mee was named to the Carroll College spring semester dean’s list. To be included on the dean’s list, a student must receive a 3.5 grade point average for the semester and take at least 12 credits.
Troy City Council meeting agenda for June 17
The Troy City council meeting will be held Tuesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. in the city courtroom. There are a number of items on the agenda.
New business licenses for Tom Martin; handyman services and Dez Newcomb; photography will be the first items on the agenda.
The mobile home ordinance, the building codes regulation and the City of Troy’s mission statement are other items on the agenda.
Gas prices rise steadily in Montana, nationally
Average retail gasoline prices in Montana have risen 3.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.72 a gallon according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 615 gas outlets in Montana.
This compares with the national average that has increased 5.5 cents per gallon to $2.81 a gallon. The national average has increased 11.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 85.5 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
Pie in July contest in Helena July 25
This year’s Pie in July contest will be held July 25 at 9:30 a.m. The contest will take place in Helena during the Last Chance Stampede and Fair weekend festival. Kaelyn Cardner of Helena was the winner of the youth division, ages 9-13 last year. She plans on entering the Pie in July contest again this year. Registrations for the contest are due by July 3. The grand champion will receive $100.
Volunteers needed at the shooting range
Michael Cirian needs help unloading 10 pallets of clay targets. He will be receiving the pallets at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17.
“Anyone who isn’t working or can find a way to come out and lend a hand would be great. The more help we get the faster and smoother it goes.” Cirian said.
