The Troy City Council work meeting was held Wednesday, June 10. Two members of the community appeared at the meeting to discuss items on the agenda. Mayor Darren Coldwell made sure their voices were heard.

“We want to hear from the community. We are not going to put them on a timer; we are here to serve them.”

Coldwell’s statement reflects an item that was on the agenda. The mayor and the City Council are currently working on a City of Troy Mission Statement.

“We want to treat this like customer service. We are here to serve the community and hear the thoughts and concerns of the community.”

The mission statement will read, “The City of Troy partners with our community to deliver excellent service, and plans for the future while preserving, protecting and enhancing the quality of life.”

The core values for the City of Troy will include culture of excellence, accountability, communication, environment, safety and trust. The City of Troy’s principles of excellent service include effective communications, teamwork, customer focus and concern for the individual.
