Frances Quinn

| June 5, 2015 8:10 AM

Frances Quinn passed away peacefully on June 1, 2015, after a valiant and courageous 18-month journey with cancer. Fran’s Catholic faith was a cornerstone of her life, bringing her enormous strength, comfort and grace. Her church community has provided amazing support to Fran and Don.

She met Don Quinn, who became the love of her life, in fifth grade. He tried to seal the deal by giving her his mother’s high school class ring. Unfortunately, he forgot to get permission and was promptly requested to retrieve it.

Fran graduated from Minneapolis West High School in 1952 and trained to be a nurse. She was happily working in her chosen vocation when Don, upon returning from military duty in 1958, spotted her at a dance club. He knew immediately she was the one for him and got her another ring, legitimately this time, and she wore it for the remainder of her life.

After marriage she began what would become her life’s work, raising four boys and creating beautiful homes in both Minnesota and Montana.

Fran and Don were able to enjoy travel, including pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Fatima and numerous shrines thoughout the United States. They were also able to travel to many states in their mobile home.

Fran is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald; children Michael (Christina), Patrick (Janet), Dennis (Joanne) and Daniel; grandchildren Jared (Mindi), Crysta (Dustin), Logan, Sean, Jordan, Kylee and Evan; great-grandchildren Degan, Quinly and Tysin; sister Betty Nordlund and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved as well.

The family would like to thank the many dedicated health care providers as well as those from St. Croix Hospice for assisting Fran and our family during this journey.
