We need more integrity from our elected officials

Letter to the Editor:

I think Mayor Roll deserves a spanking. Wait a minute, I know most moms would take away his gavel and cell phone and then put his nose in a corner for a while.

Mayor Roll evidently has no respect for the citizens of Libby. He wasn’t elected to have meetings behind closed doors when the doors should have been open, cancel meetings and shut residents up from saying things he doesn’t like.

Where was the City Council when this was going on? Seems they were walking lockstep with the city attorney and Mayor Roll.

No one knows if the election rules have been broken, but a thorough investigation should be able to tell us.

If this violation proves to be true, anyone guilty should be accountable to the citizens of Libby. It has betrayed the residents.

For one, I’m ashamed that I didn’t stand up for Councilman Olsen. It’s easy to close your eyes to injustice when it happens to others.

Councilman Olsen has gone through more than most people and has held up better than most people could. He should be compensated for his pain and suffering.

If these charges are true, we need to look for integrity in our future candidates. We mustn’t let this situation ever happen again. No sweeping under the rug.

We have the right to know.
