Joanne Norman

Joanne Norman, 77, died July 23, 2015, at her home in Troy. She was born to Harold and Frances (Fanny) Nelson February 11, 1938, at St. Ignatius and came to Troy when she was in grade school, later graduating from Troy High School in 1956.  

She married Doehler Cartwright and they resided in Missoula for a brief period before moving to Roseberg, Ore. He preceded her in death in December of 1972. She later married Chuck Mally in 1973 and they returned to Troy in 1974; they were later divorced. Joanne attended Kinman Business School in Spokane, Wash., after which she was employed by Ninneman Engineering in Troy and the Venture Inn in Libby.

She married Charles (Chuck) Norman June 3, 1983, and they continued to make their home in Troy. He preceded her in death in March 2014. Joanne enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as fishing and being in the great outdoors of Montana and greatly enjoyed being grandmother to her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Becky Tebby of North Dakota, Betty Cartwright of Spokane, Wash., Brenda Borders of North Dakota, Beth Kinney of Troy, Christina Lacy of Lewistown and Jodi Rands of Spokane, Wash.; two stepchildren, Ben Norman of Oregon; and David Norman of Troy; grandchildren Charlie Norman of Troy, Robert Norman of Libby, A.J. Kinney and Kelly Kinney of Troy, Sylvia Rands of Spokane, Wash., Barbara Lacy, Joseph Lacy and Charlie Lacy of Grass Range, Tayo and Shade Ola of Nigeria, Peyton Norman of Troy, Christina Lacy of Grass Range, Becky Tebby of Benedict, N.D., Brenda Borders, Max, N.D., Kierstin Norman of Troy and Brian Norman of Manifee, Calif. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister Phylis Cole and grandson Lee Cartwright.

Services will be Saturday, August 1, at 1 p.m. at the Troy Church of God with interment following in Troy Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared online by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
