Federal agencies usurp the people's authority

| July 21, 2015 8:18 AM

We are becoming painfully aware of the gradual shift of legal authority away from Congress to federal agencies, not only generating highly restrictive laws but also ruthlessly enforcing them. Meanwhile, accountability has

shifted to the executive branch.  Intended federal checks and balances have become inoperative; basically non-existent. I have watched for years while our Congress has grown less and less effective and these federal agencies have increased in number and strength. Our country has basically been taken over by non-elected, appointed individuals assuming tremendous power and basically reporting to a president ruling by edict. The question is, how do “We the People” regain fair constitutional power and control over our own government?

The wealth of the country increasingly flows into coffers of big corporations, which, at top levels, basically control our government. This while the non-productive welfare state expands in size, dependency and societal demands. It is increasingly difficult for the producing middle class to fund it all and still maintain its own livelihood, freedoms and survival.

This working population is forced to devote extensive time and finances attempting to rein in agency and federal over-reach while developing much needed corrections in our legislative system and governmental structure.

Uninformed, misdirected voters fail to vote the rascals out.   Americans must start by regaining law, order and constructively-focused public education.  We must return to the values and principles which had made our country unique and great.
