Kendall Ward

Kendall Conrad Ward, 82, went to be with his Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday, July 13, 2015.  He passed away of natural causes at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby. Kenny was born Feb. 3, 1933, to Merwin and Ruby Ward in Iron River, Wis. The family moved to Chester when he was seven weeks old. At the age of 12, his family moved to Libby.

Kenny attended Libby schools and graduated from Libby High School in 1951, where he served as Class President.

Kenny’s employment included Endicott’s Libby Creamery and J. Neils Presto Log Plant. His businesses included Libby Transfer and Storage with his partner, Forest Martell and later he established Kendall Ward Trucking, all in Libby.

He was an early member of the Faith Bible Church, where he dedicated his life to his Lord Jesus, and continued to be a faithful follower until the very end of his life. Kenny adored and loved his family. He excelled in knowledge of trucks and heavy equipment and could always converse at length about them.

Kenny was married to Marie Williamson of Libby in 1953 and the marriage was blessed with two children; Ann Ward (Grotjohn) and Steve Ward, which later dissolved. In 1978, he married Betty Brossman and also became a loving parent to her children.    

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Merwin and Ruby Ward and grandson, Dieter Brossman.  

Survivors include Kenny’s beloved wife, Betty J. Ward of Libby; sisters Jean DeShazer of Kalama, Wash., and Doris (Bob) Wilson of Deer Lodge; brothers Forest (Elaine) Martell of Libby and Terry (Val) Ward of Libby; children Ann (Jeff) Grotjohn of Libby; Steve (Sydney) Ward of Libby, Dennis (Marie) Brossman of Lander, Wyo.; Brian (Lori) Brossman of Renton, Wash.; Danny (Sharon) Brossman of Libby; Brenda (Joe) Chapman of Lewiston, Idaho and Danette Gregory of Libby and grandchildren Nicholas Grotjohn, Sara Grotjohn, Brandon Laffoon, Paige Tolle, Alicia Lajuenesse, Aryan Brossman, Kendra Brossman, Ben Brossman, Libby Mohr, Haven Szambelan, Seth Brossman, Lewis Brossman, Michelle Wolf, Mitchell Chapman, Harmony Chapman, Celeste Gregory and Shane Gregory. Kenny also had 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2015 from 1 p.m. until  8 p.m. at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.  Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Faith Bible Church in Libby on Saturday, July 18, 2015.  Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com
