Alan Keen
Alan LeRoy Keen, 68, of Libby, passed away in Kalispell on July 10, 2015, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. He was born on June 26, 1947, in Loma Linda, Calif., to James and Virginia Keen.
Alan led a colorful life, traveling all over the United States, holding a large variety of different jobs from baker to fisherman to electronics repairman. He loved to tell stories of his experiences, especially about his time hanging out with musicians in San Francisco during the late 1960s. He was a big believer in macrobiotics and healthy food. He married Deb (Abbs) Keen in 1972 in Tucson, Ariz.
He is predeceased by his mother Virginia Lawetzki. He is survived by both his daughters, Joy Keen and her husband Sylvan Thompson, and by Jill and Brian Vaughn and their son Alden. He is also survived by his sisters Becky Ray, Marsha Loughlin, and Kathy Bustin. He is also survived by his nieces Kristy Gaines Mann and Amber Hardinger and nephews David Keen and Brian Gaines.
At his request, Alan has been cremated. There will be no formal memorial services held. Please feel free to hold personal memorial ceremonies of your choosing to celebrate Alan’s life.
