Gary Van Hoose

Gary Wesley Van Hoose “No. 1, Gordo” passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015, at age 56 at his home in Libby. He was born in Grayson, Ky., on June 26, 1958. His family lived in Monitor, Wash., then moved to Idaho where he grew up in the Pinehurst area.

Later, he and his wife and children moved to Libby. Gary was a man of many talents and trades. He graduated college and worked as a carpenter. He then worked at the Champion/Stimson Mill and spent his final years as a machinist.

Gary was a hard-headed, fun loving and comical man that worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed spending time being outdoors, camping with his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Louella Van Hoose, sister Joan Elizabeth Van Hoose and grandson Kenneth Van Hoose.

Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marla Van Hoose; son Christopher Van Hoose, both of Libby; daughters Jennifer Van Hoose of Billings, Ashley Van Hoose of Moscow, Idaho; grandchildren Jordan Van Hoose, Aiden Van Hoose of Libby, Kobe French and Madison French of Billings; brothers Ron Van Hoose, Paul Van Hoose, Rick Van Hoose; sisters Kathy Jenkins and Sheri Leggins; many nieces and nephews and his good friends Dave Friss, Mike Laveway and Carl Leggins.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later time.  Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
