Ray Knight

Ray Newell Knight, 88, of Troy, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby of natural causes. He was born Oct. 29, 1926 in Provo, Utah to Ralph W. and Fern (Young) Knight. He grew up and attended school in Orem, Utah, graduating from Orem High School with the Class of 1944. He entered the United States Navy at the age of 18. On September 27, 1948, he married LaDee Peterson. Ray owned his own long-haul truck and drove truck for over 30 years. He retired from truck driving and bought a trailer court in St. Regis, which he managed for 15 years. After selling the trailer court, he moved to Troy. Over the years, Ray enjoyed horses. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDee.

Survivors include his children Lonna Fox of Missoula, Karen Rich (Larry) of Roosevelt, Utah, Ray Knight, Jr. of Troy and Scott Knight (Pam) of Troy; 13 grandchildren; brothers Ken Knight (Dorothy) of Torrey, Utah, Fern Harward (Val) of Orem, Utah and Gary Knight (Susie) of Salt Lake City, Utah and sister Colleen Lewis (Clint) of Provo, Utah.

Services for Ray were Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Interment followed the service at the Troy Cemetery.   Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
