Francella (Sandy) Bowen, 90, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at the Libby Care Center.  She was born May 31, 1924 in Colorado to Charles and Francis (Mann) Heffner.  She spent her early years in Oregon before her family moved to St. Ignatius, where she graduated high school. After meeting and marrying her husband, Clyde, they lived in Missoula and Hamilton before moving to Troy in 1955.

They bought the Gambles store at that time.  Sandy spent many years as a homemaker before joining her husband in the late 60s to work at the family owned business.  She spent over 30 years there.  When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed her garden, flowers and spending time with Clyde at their cabin in the Yaak. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Troy United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Robins and sons Jim Bowen and Steve Bowen, all of Troy; daughter Deborah (Jim) Haines of Caulfield, Mo.; five grandchildren and five great–grandchildren. Family services will be held later in the spring. Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory of Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
