Shame on Ross Creek thieves
Letter to the Editor:
No one has the right to steal from our public parks. The theft of the braided root bridge from Ross Creek Cedars reminds us that every community has its treasures to protect.
By teaching respect and appreciation of these priceless gifts we will help ensure a legacy of value for those who follow.
We are the caretakers, it’s up to us to instill the reverence required to keep these sites healthy.
Why anyone would poach this irreplaceable heirloom is hard to comprehend.
Ignorance and short-term profit are flimsy excuses.
We’ve all been robbed here. Every citizen of this county and country have been deprived of the enchantment offered by our iconic braided bridge.
Let’s all keep our eyes and ears open to find the culprits responsible for this violation. This isn’t the way we treat our special places.
Shame on whoever did this!
