Mariane Davis Heyne

Mariane Davis Heyne, 98, of Libby passed away Sunday at the Libby Care Center.  Mariane was born in Dupuyer on Feb. 15, 1916 to George and Ida Davis. The family moved to Polson two years later where she was raised and educated along with her five brothers and six sisters. She married Hugh (Casey) Heyne June 20, 1933, raising a family of six children.

Mariane and Casey, along with their six children, lived in many places in Washington, Oregon and Idaho before returning to Montana in 1951. They settled in Libby in 1954.  Mariane was a devoted mom who enjoyed decorating her many homes. She had been a very active and involved member of the VFW Auxiliary, serving as president for two terms. She was the last surviving child of the Davis family.

Preceding her in death were her husband; her children, Phil and Don Heyne, Vicki Schneider and Arthur Richard Heyne and sons-in-law Pete Nelson and Bill Hawkins.

Survivors include three children, Joan (Norm) Robbins of Sandpoint, Idaho, Sandy Nelson and Budd (Nancy) Heyne of Libby; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home with interment services at Milnor Lake Cemetery. A reception will follow at the VFW Club.
