Dec. 24

• A caller on Dakota Avenue reported two young males looking into vehicles and rummaging through mailboxes on Michigan, Minnesota and Dakota Avenues. The woman reported the boys looked into a couple of her vehicles, but they were locked. She had items taken from her vehicle the prior evening.

• An 18-year-old individual was arrested on Mineral Avenue on a warrant for contempt of court.

• A man on Fifth Street called and reported he had clothing and food stolen from his residence. He said it was not the first time and didn’t need to speak with police, but wanted it to be noted.

Dec. 25

• A woman on Vanderwood called and reported a man acting strange and refusing to leave a shop near her home. The Sherriff’s Department responded to the call and escorted the man home.

Dec. 26

• A man called from Montana Avenue and reported a cooler taken from his back porch on the night of Dec. 22.

• A man was arrested on 10th Street for probation violation.

• A traffic stop on Highway 2 led to the arrest of 30-year-old man for driving on a suspended license.

• A caller reported a noise complaint on Minnesota Avenue. Officers responded to the residence where several people fled. One was cited for MIP.

Dec. 27

• An employee at a convenience store reported an individual had just taken beer from the store without paying.

• A woman called to report that an ex-family member had taken items being stored in her garage as she moved to new residence. The landlord at previous residence said he witnessed family members removing items from location.

• A bartender called to report an altercation between two patrons. One man was assaulted and filed a complaint. The bartender was unsure of right and left so couldn’t tell officers in which direction the offending party fled.

• A caller on Third Street reported a noise disturbance. Officers responded and no citations were given.

Dec. 28

• A caller from a local business reported a woman leaving the establishment severely intoxicated. Police were given a description of the vehicle. When they located the car it was parked and nobody was around.

• An individual was arrested on Riverside Avenue in Troy for a temporary restraining order violation.

Jan. 2

• A caller reported a break-in at the county landfill; a report was taken.    

• A person reported a violation of a temporary restraining order by phone and text.

• A caller reported a vehicle on fire on Highway 2. Called back to report it was a blown radiator hose.

• Troy police cited a 64-year old woman with a DUI on Kootenai Street.

• A woman on Highway 37 called to report a man and woman yelling at each other. The situation was checked out and everything was OK.

• During a traffic stop near a convenience store on Highway 2, a 47-year old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

• A caller on Farm to Market Road reported someone lighting off fireworks. When responding officers arrived the fireworks had ceased.

Jan. 3

• A caller reported a suspicious person running toward the woods near Asa Wood. The area was checked and cleared by sheriff’s officers.

• A call came from a Troy watering hole reporting an intoxicated female. The situation was given an all clear.

• An alarm at a Libby bank went off. County units responded and found no suspicious activity.

• A report of suspicious activity was reported in Pinewood Village. The area was checked and nothing was moving; all was well.

• A caller reported a bull moose licking the roadway near an area gas station, which was causing a bit of a traffic jam. The moose left on his own volition.

• About an hour later, another report was called in about a moose on Highway 2.

• A caller reported an injured German shepherd outside an office building. The caller gave a name they believed to be the owner of the animal.

• Approximately four hours after the second call, another call reported a moose on Highway 2. When officers arrived the moose had already fled.

• A caller reported an assault by her boyfriend earlier in the week and requested to speak to an officer.

• A caller on Dakota Ave. reported a man with a beer in hand dancing in the street holding up traffic.

Jan. 4

• A caller reported water leaking onto the road from a broken water main near a local gas station. Police responded and contacted the water department.

• A caller reported an audible alarm going off in the area of a local eatery. Officers found the source of the alarm, but found nothing suspicious.

• A caller reported vandalism at the Flower Creek Cross-Country Ski Area. The vandals shot signs and left the area littered with beer cans and shotgun shells.

• A caller reported a fire on Big Horn Way. Troy Fire and the sheriff’s office responded to the call.
