Gerald G. (Jerry) Madill

Gerald G. (Jerry) Madill, 73, of Libby died Wednesday Dec. 31, 2014, at the Libby Care Center from natural causes. Jerry was born May 18, 1941, in Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

At age four Jerry moved with his family to the United States.  He spent his early years in the Seattle area. When Jerry was a teenager the family moved to Moses Lake, Wash., where Jerry would graduate from Moses Lake High School with the class of 1959. Jerry moved to Great Falls where he would spend the next 10 years.

Jerry worked as a Police Officer and as a ditch rider for Greenfield Irrigation in Fairfield, just outside of Great Falls. In 1982, following an industrial accident, Jerry moved to Kalispell where he attended Flathead Valley Community College for retraining. He graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences of Human Services.

Jerry Married Virginia Drace on Dec. 1, 1984, in Columbia Falls. In 1993 they moved to Libby.  Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood crafts, photography, bowling and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Ginny Madill of Libby; children Randal Hunt (Carla) of Kila, Jeremy Hunt of Billings, Tammy Syth of Deer Park, Wash., Dayna Christie of Uncasville, Conn.; a sister, Sande Cummings of Log Cabin, Tex.; brother-in-law James Drace of Shelby; sister-in-law Susan Keller of Columbia Falls; eight grandchildren, Jalynn, Kimberly, Joshua, Trent, Tory, Cameryn and Andi.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at the Church of the Nazarene in Libby. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
