Missing girl found in Spokane, returned to Lincoln County

Selena Shriner, 15, who was listed as missing/endangered by national criminal authorities, was found in Spokane, Wash., on Feb. 15 and returned to Lincoln County by members of her family. She is reported to be safe and unharmed.

Shriner went missing from Libby on Jan. 26, and was presumed to have run away from home with an unidentified man. On Feb. 11, the lead investigator on the case, Libby Police Sergeant Terry Watson, upgraded Shriner’s status from missing to missing/endangered. That change in classification allowed for additional information to be supplied to the media and increased the exposure of the case.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office stepped in on Feb. 12 and provided manpower and assistance to the Libby Police Department.

Libby Police have declined to offer further details, as Shriner is a juvenile and the investigation into the exact circumstances of her disappearance are still under investigation.
