Greenchain splits up for weekend tourneys: Bulk of team travels to Eureka for Buzz Lucey

While four of their team members went to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for the Tri-State Wrestling Tournament, the rest of the team, i.e. Colten Clemons, Reed Christensen, Michael Lehnert, Tanner Wood, Tim Carvey and Clancy Gout, went with Greenchain assistant coach John Love to Eureka for the Buzz Lucey Wrestling Tournament.

The Greenchain wrestling team finished seventh out of 10 teams, but Love insisted the team’s finishing spot was better than the one they had the year before and that the team gained it by a group effort.

“I was proud of our effort as a group,” said Love. “It was 100 percent better than last year. We are definitely further along as compared to last year. Hopefully we keep getting better as we go.”

Clemons and Carvey took third in the 103-lb. and 160-lb. weight classes respectively. Christensen and Gout finished fourth in the 132-lb. and 205-lb. classes.

Love said that he was proud of Gout and Christensen’s leadership among the team as well as their performance in the tournament.

“Reed and Clancy provided great leadership, which was great to see,” said Love. “As a kind of young group, that is especially important.”

The Greenchain’s next meet is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 22 in Polson.
