Winter tips from the chief

The official start of winter is only a few days away, however the winter driving season is in full swing. I would like to remind everyone to give yourself a little extra time when you head out for work, school and/or errands. Also, take the time to clean frost and snow from your windows so your vision is not obstructed.

Remember to slow down and yield the right of way at uncontrolled intersections. Sliding through an intersection because of snow or ice is not an excuse to strike another vehicle or a pedestrian.

All Libby residents should be aware of the city’s snow removal ordinance. A copy of the ordinance is available at City Hall. Any vehicles parked on city streets in violation of the ordinance are subject to fines and impoundment.

Last, but certainly not least, if you drink please don’t drive.

I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
