63, of Priest River, Idaho
Kurt Anthony Naccarato was born on Jan. 12, 1952 in Sandpoint, Idaho to parents Dalores (Bricker McDowell) and Charles Naccarato.
He served in the United States Air Force and went on to build a career with the Idaho Department of Lands.
Naccarato worked with the Bureau of Fire Management and was also Fire Warden in several different districts.
At the time of his retirement, Kurt held the position of Hazardous Fuels Treatment Program Manager.
He was a member of the Catholic Church in Priest River, Idaho and served as an altar boy while growing up. Naccarato coached the 1974 Little League team, the Sagle Bobcats, leading them to the championship with the winning record of 17 and 1.
Kurt belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and was a frequent contributor to Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to music and telling good stories.
He also liked fly fishing and tying his own flies, woodworking and carpentry and going for long drives in the mountains.
Kurt passed away in The Dalles, Ore., on Nov. 5, 2015, at the age of 63.
He will be missed by his brother Matt Naccarato of Spokane, Wash.; sister Gina Naccarato of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law, Autumn and David Anderson of Dallesport, Wash.; granddaughter, Niccarra Anderson of The Dalles, Ore.; and grandson Tristen Anderson of Dallesport.
A memorial was held at Popeye’s in Priest River on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m.
