51, formerly of Libby

 

Brent W. Willard, 51, a former resident of Libby died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, in Auburn, Wash., from natural causes. Brent was born Nov. 29, 1963, in Polson, to William and Verna (Surbrook) Willard. Brent grew up and attended school in Libby and graduated from Libby High School with the class of 1982. 

At an early age Brent earned the nick name Bru. After his graduation from Libby High School, Brent attended the University of Montana for two years. During those summers he worked fighting fires for the United States Forest Service. Brent worked numerous jobs over the next 18 years before going to work for Plygen Window in Kent, Wash., where he worked at the time of his death. Brent enjoyed playing and watching sports of all kinds, football, basketball and golf. Brent also enjoyed going to the horse races and family reunions in North Carolina. He had a very good sense of humor.

Survivors include his mother Verna Johnson (Clarence) of Libby; brothers Scott Willard (Shelly) of Kernersville, N.C. and Bart Willard (Christy) of Summerfield, N.C. and a sister, Sheri Willard of Chicago, Ill.

Services will be held Friday Dec. 18, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Libby. Local arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com. There will be services in Missoula at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
