Bill Flynn

| August 14, 2015 8:59 AM

Bill Flynn, 66, died at his home of natural causes on June 2, 2015.

William Henry Flynn was born on August 30, 1948, in Champaign, Ill., to Marylin (Clark) and Donald Flynn. He grew up and attended Libby schools, graduating in 1966. He was a natural athlete, especially enjoying football and baseball, and often mentioned that his school years brought some of his very best memories.

In 1967 he married Risky Stone. The couple moved to Troy in 1971, where they raised their three daughters. Bill was a gypo skidder operator, spending long days in the woods and his summer weekends outdoors with family and friends. He was known for his sharp wit, an easy laugh and was a kind and generous man. He was devoted to his girls and we all shared countless fun days boating at Bull Lake, four-wheeling, hunting and fishing as a family.

Bill moved east in 1990, living and working in Havre, Lincoln and Vida. He returned to Libby to retire in 2002. As his health declined he was able to share time with his parents before they passed. He became an avid and knowledgeable gun collector and enjoyed the daily company of his sister, Donna.

Bill was preceded in death by his birth father, Donald Flynn and his mother and stepfather, Marylin and Jerry Kenelty. He is survived by his sisters, Vicki (Bob) Munson, Donna (Marshal) Martin, 11 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews; ex-wife, Risky Hill; daughters Vicki Flynn, Mandi Stark and Erin Flynn; and grandchildren, William and Garret Flynn, Brenna Keesee, and Henry and Isaac Stark.

A memorial will be held for Bill on September 12, 2015. When asked how to honor his memory, Bill said “get together and have a beer” and we invite you to join us for one at the McGregor Lake Lodge at 2 p.m. We’ll share a light luncheon and our favorite memories.
