Norman Olbekson

Norman H. Olbekson, 83, of Libby, passed away August 3, 2015, at Life Care Center in Sandpoint, Idaho, of natural causes.  He was born July 20, 1932, in Alexandria, Minn., to Loren and Floretta (Mohawk) Olbekson, Sr. He grew up in Cass Lake, Minn., and entered the United States Air Force in 1949. He received an Honorable Discharge in September 1953 and later moved to Libby. In June 1954, Norman married Ann Gordon.  He found work in Rexford, working for Marion Orr. Norman then went to work for J. Neils Lumber Company, working there for 36 years and retiring on January 4, 1991.

Norman loved hunting, fishing, and spending time at their cabin in the Yaak. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. He and his wife, Ann, made trips to Canada and Minnesota on his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Olbekson in 2007; three brothers and one sister.

Services for Norman will be 5 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home Chapel.
