Aug. 23

• A caller reported two adults and seven children huckleberry picking up Smith Mountain and had not returned. An officer responded and found the individuals had car trouble.

Aug. 24

• Officers responded to Wisconsin Avenue to check on a man whose daughter called and the phone went dead. The man was fine, and officers used a cell phone to call his daughter.

• A woman was in the middle of the road near Shopko wanting a ride to Troy.

• A caller on Main Street reported someone dumped a bunch of beer, empty and full, in the front yard of the residence.

• Fish and Game was contacted about a deer in the yard of a home on Airstrip Road with large black bumps on it, possible tumors or ticks.

• A caller on Cedar Meadow Road called to report that a neighbor has been shooting firearms for two hours.

• Animal Control was called about a puppy on Norman Avenue that has been tied up while the owners have been gone for a couple days. The caller gave the puppy food and water and untangled its tight collar.

• A man on Kootenai River Road reported a vehicle driving too fast on the road in front of his home.

• The owner of a trailer home on Yaak Avenue in Troy reported several people have been entering the home and now have stolen a couple of snowmobiles.

Aug. 25

• A caller reported a vehicle parked in the ditch at the Alexander Trail Head.

• A caller on Remps Road reported a suspicious vehicle that had been getting into their mail box. It was also reported to the postal service.

• An employee from Dome Theater brought in a purse that had been left at the theater.

• The Forest Service was notified about a report that a blue flatbed truck was logging up Stanley Creek.

• A property manager reported having problems with people coming through the garage of previous rentals that he manages on Montana Avenue.

• A caller reported cows on Iron Creek Road.

Aug. 26

• A caller reported that a home she recently inherited in Libby had been burglarized.

• A caller reported a suspicious man in a camouflage hat, green shirt and backpack kept ducking in and out from behind the shed behind Torgy’s.

• Two Australian shepherd dogs at the Libby Elementary School were reported chasing deer into the wooded area near the school.

• A caller on Parmenter Drive reported she can hear a man yelling for help but was not sure of his location. Officers responded and found it to be a distressed goat.

Aug. 27

• A caller on Bull Lake Road reported the neighbor’s dog was chasing goats and that the neighbor became confrontational.

• Animal Control was contacted about a horse on Spencer Hill that looks to be underfed and doesn’t have sufficient water.

• A caller reported a vehicle on the lot of Timberline Auto has all the doors open and the business appears closed.

Aug. 28

• A caller on Spencer Road reported that several people were walking down his road and took a picture of him having a smoke on his front porch.

• Officers stopped a vehicle that was reported to have been passing cars at Kootenai Falls at a high rate of speed.

• Officers received a report of young people driving by a house on Dakota Avenue saying they killed his cat.

• Officers responded to a theft at a business on West Ninth Street. The suspect was an older man carrying a backpack, wearing a fedora and a plaid shirt. He was seen walking a golden retriever. The suspect was arrested on a felony warrant out of Oregon.

• An employee at Radio Shack reported her blue Samsung Galaxy phone was stolen while at work.

• A woman on Farm To Market said she was in a domestic situation a while back and she believes the man is at her residence or going there now.

• Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Libby Volunteer Ambulance for possible suicide.

• Animal Control was contacted about a dog running loose in the Shopko area.
