August 18
• A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the middle of Education Way with its flashers on and an older male in the vehicle.
• Animal Control was contacted by a caller on Three Corner Road about a cat under a car with a serious injury.
• A man on Pioneer Road called regarding his step-daughter receiving threatening and harassing phone calls from her soon to be ex-boyfriend.
• A caller reported that they had a vehicle parked across from Rosauers and someone stole the battery out of it.
• Libby Police responded to a call that there was someone in the community garden. The officer found the alleged person to be a mannequin.
• A woman on Pinewood Lane wanted to speak with a deputy about threats from her uncle.
• A caller from Sandpoint, Idaho called to report that her husband and son had not returned from a hike up to Bockman Peak from the Leigh Lake Trailhead. Officers responded to the trailhead and found the vehicle but no sign of the hikers. The hikers were found the next morning and transported to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center for possible broken ribs and lacerations.
August 19
• A caller reported witnessing a man head butt a woman in a house on Farm To Market Road.
• A man on Spencer Road called to report a person had entered his home and stolen medications.
• A camper called to report that her cell phone had been stolen from her campsite at Jackson Creek.
• A man came into the sheriff’s office to report he had lost his wallet at Moody’s Laundromat.
• A two-vehicle accident was reported at mile-marker No. 5 on Highway 37. Both vehicles were blocking the road and one vehicle was towing a boat. All three occupants were transported to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center.
• An employee from Happy’s Inn called to report a two vehicle, non-injury accident in front of the gas station.
• A caller from Happy’s Inn called to report a minor was assaulted at a wedding reception.
• A caller reported two juveniles riding dirt bikes up and down dirt piles in a fenced in area off the Lincoln Boulevard.
• A caller on Pinewood Lane said the neighbors’ dogs bark constantly and were not being cared for.
• A caller reported a suspicious older male in a gold Jeep came through private property on Templin Drive. The male appeared to be acting strange and smelled funny.
• The Sheriff’s Office received a call about a vehicle hitting a moose on Highway 2 near mile-marker No. 78.
August 21
• Animal Control was contacted about dogs constantly barking in Reese Court.
• Fish and Game was contacted about a deer caught in the fence at the high school.
• A Yaak River Road caller asked to speak with a deputy about someone attempting to break into their residence while they were gone the previous evening.
• A caller reported rocks on the road on Highway 37 near mile-marker No. 6 close to the area of Rainy Creek.
• A caller from the Libby Airport reported that he was just assaulted by another man that was attempting to take an equipment bag that did not belong to him.
• A 25-year-old man was arrested on Avondale Road on a probation violation.
• A homeowner on Shalom Kerry Road called to report that while cleaning out basement after evicting renters, they had found drug paraphernalia in the closet.
• A caller on Spencer Road reported he was being harassed by neighbors. Last weekend they had threatened to kill him and tonight he heard noise on his porch. When he went outside he heard someone pumping a weapon. Officers found out it was a pellet gun, not an actual firearm.
• A caller on East 6th Street called to report that gas had been siphoned out of three of his vehicles. He estimated his loss to be 20 gallons.
August 22
• A caller on Spencer Road reported what sounded like a domestic disturbance going on in the neighboring trailer.
• A woman requested speaking with an officer about her boyfriend’s stolen wallet.
• Someone reported losing a black iPhone in the area of the Lee Gehring Field.
• A man reported losing an orange Stihl chainsaw between Northwood and Kootenai River Road.
• A man on Paul Bunyan Lane reported receiving threatening calls from a woman in Maine.
• A caller reported the theft of a VFW blood drive sign near First Montana Bank.
• A caller reported a truck with an unsecured load losing a table on Highway 2 near Yaak Hill. The caller reported striking the table with a car. Part of the table was now stuck in the car.
August 23
• A caller on Olbekson Road reported someone stealing property from their land.
• A caller on Libby Creek Road reported feeling concerned after hearing gunshots fired by campers at nearly 10 p.m.
