Fine Arts to meet

for painting session

Libby Fine Arts will meet for a painting session Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. We meet at the Treasure Manor. Bring your paints and come join us. For more information call 293-9282.

Heritage Council

to host String Trio

The Kootenai Heritage Council will present the International String Trio at 7 p.m. October 3.

This is the first event of the 2014-2015 Entertainment Series. Ticket prices remain $12 presale and $15 at the door but students will be admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets are available at these outlets in Libby:

In Libby, tickets are available at The Printing Press/Cabinet Books, Chamber of Commerce, Mountain Meadows Gifts, Homesteaders Farm & Ranch, Rivermist, The Western News and Rocky Mountain Music.

In Troy, tickets are available at Hot Club and Booze ‘n Bait.

Candidate forum

to be held Tuesday

Election Day, Nov. 4, is fast approaching. Every candidate seeking elected office in Lincoln County has been invited to a 6 p.m. candidate forum at the Maki Theater. With several closely contested races, this is a chance to listen to the candidates in person.

Anyone with a question for a candidate is encouraged to submit their inquiry to: executivedirector@libbychamber.org.

Libby Dam outflow

to lower Sept. 26

Libby Dam outflow will remain at 9,000 cubic feet per second through September 26. Outflow will then ramp down 1,000 cubic feet per second per day starting Friday evening. After three days, the outflow will remain at 6,000 cubic feet per second for the remainder of the month.

Troy’s Tallmadge

enrolls at George Fox

 Erich Tallmadge of Troy has enrolled as a freshman at George Fox University of Newberg, Ore., this fall.

Tallmadge is one of 616 first-time freshmen joining the university. It is the biggest first-year class in the history of the institution.

George Fox University is ranked by Forbes among the top Christian universities in the country and is a Christian college classified by U.S. News & World Report as a first-tier regional university. More than 3,700 students attend classes on the university’s campus and at teaching centers.

KPFL to hold chip

clinic Tuesday

Kootenai Pets For Life will hold its monthly clinic to insert microchips in pet animals from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 23. Interested pet owners can call 293-4936 for an appointment. Microchips have been responsible for reuniting stray animals with their humans in a short time.
