Aug. 9

• Someone called to report that a woman had just flown off of her motorcycle on Highway 37 near Mac’s Market. The woman and her husband then left the area in a black Harley Davidson. Deputies located the couple and an ambulance responded. But the woman refused medical attention.

• A sheriff’s deputy noticed an intoxicated man in the roadway on Highway 2 near mile market 2. The man was stumbling “all over the road.”

• Someone found a wallet in the restroom of a gas station in Libby and called to report it. Dispatch  located the phone number for the owner of the wallet and attempted to contact the  person, but there was no answer.

• Someone who lives on Second Street in Libby called to complain about loud music in the area. One of the deputies reminded dispatch that the Riverfront Blues Fesival was taking place at Riverfront Park.

Aug. 10

• Someone called the Libby Police Department at 1:01 a.m. to request that an officer shut down the Riverfront Blues Festival because the caller thought the music was supposed to stop at midnight.

• Someone called 911 to report that a man was in a rollover vehicle accident on Highway 2 near Happy’s Inn. The man possibly had a head injury. Emergency crews responded and transported the man to a medical facility. The vehicle was later located down a 20-foot embankment.

• Someone turned in an old picture and frame that was found along the side of Highway 2. The Sheriff’s Office sent a photograph of the picture and frame to The Western News, which in turn posted the image on the company’s Facebook page. The owner was located within hours.

• A man called 911 to report that he was hearing automatic gunfire at the county rifle range. The caller thought it was illegal.

• A man was arrested on a warrant in Troy.

• Someone called dispatch to report people smoking marijuana near the Libby Dam.

• A woman turned in a purse that her child had found on Highway 2 near Save Rite South.

• A 34-year-old man was arrested on Highway 2 near Callahan Creek Road and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and driving without proof of insurance.

• A woman who lives on City Service Road called dispatch to speak with an officer about someone who was driving past her house and throwing bottles at it.

• A man called the Libby Police Department after receiving a text from his wife that a man was in her residence yelling at her and causing a disturbance. Officers responded and arrested a man for a probation violation.

Aug. 12

• Someone reported a hit and run accident in the parking lot of a grocery store in Libby.

• A man who lives on Three Corners Road reported that his landlord had just shot his cat in front of his son.

• An anonymous caller reported a woman was selling drugs at a trailer court.

• Someone called dispatch to report the driver of a white van was spinning “brodies” in the rodeo arena at J. Neils Memorial Park. The van had appeared to blow a tire and almost flipped, the caller said.

Aug. 13

• A man in Lewis Loop called to report someone had broken into his home while he was out of town.

• A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend was harassing her.

• A man reported his son’s mountain bike had been stolen the night before. The bike was gray with black handles and a woman’s name written on the side.

• Someone called dispatch to report a vehicle pulling a trailer full of dogs had stopped in the parking lot of a grocery store in Libby. The caller was concerned that it was too hot outside for the dogs.

• A shoplifter was reported at a retail business on Mineral Avenue.

• A man called 911 to report that his bike had been stolen the night before.

• An anonymous caller reported the location of a woman that was wanted by law enforcement. However, officers checked on the matter and told the caller that the woman was not wanted for anything.

• Someone on Minnesota Avenue reported a missing rotweiler that answers to the name Cain.
