Mixed pool league

to hold meeting

The Mixed Pool League will hold the 2014-15 season organizational meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the VFW small meeting room. This is the only time to address rule changes or problems from previous seasons. Election of officers will also be held.

All representatives and players from last season are encouraged to attend. Sponsors are welcome and any players wishing to start or join a team are encouraged to attend.

Junior Cotillion to host dance session

The National League of Junior Cotillions North Idaho Chapter will be at Libby Ballet in Asa Wood School for a dance session available to students enrolled in fifth-12th grade. There must be between 16-20 students for the program to take place.

Classes begin Sept. 15 and will be held 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students will learn the waltz, foxtrot, swing, cha cha and popular line dance steps. Young ladies will learn how to follow a gentleman’s lead and boys will learn the ways of a gentleman. Boys will wear navy blue or black suit jackets and ties and girls will wear skirts or dresses below the knee. Suit jackets and ties may be provided.

The $210 cost covers books, name tags, refreshments, correspondence materials, certificates, prizes, dance cards, gloves for girls and corsages and boutonnières for the ball.

Yoga chanting

The Hot Club, located at 302 1/2 E. Kootenai in Troy, will host two days of yoga chanting workshops beginning Monday, Sept. 15. Gina Sala and Daniel Paul will return to expand on their teachings from last year.

Sala is a musician, teacher, performer and healer who began chanting as a three-year-old. She is a lead singer for Cirque du Soleil.

Paul is an internationally recognized tabla virtuoso and vocalist. The Fulbright Scholar has recorded with the biggest names in kirtan, new age and classical Indian music.

Bain drains hole-in-one at Cabinet View

Floyd Bain, a pass holder of Cabinet View Golf Club, shot a hole-in-one. He struck the shot with a 9 iron at hole No. 11 from 115 yards. Bob Castaneda and John Konzen witnessed the shot Sept. 10.

Prescribed burns

set for Three RIvers

The Three Rivers Ranger District is implementing their fall prescribed burn programs. Three Rivers uses prescribed burning as a resource management tool to reach their management objectives.

Some of these treatments are in close proximity to private property. Local communities and the valleys may experience some periodic smoky conditions.

Buildings and grounds meeting

The Libby School District board of trustees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at 724 Louisiana Ave. to discuss the McGrade Center lease.
