July 29

• An official from BNSF called about a couple that was sitting about three feet from the right-of-way by the train tracks.

• A man called for help with getting his wife out of her wheelchair.

• A man called from Bayhorse Drive to talk to a deputy about individuals parking their motor home on his lake property.

• A theft of a commercial generator was called in from Highway 2 at mile marker 11.

• The owner of a trailer court on Granite Creek Road called in about a woman threatening to burn down her trailer.

• Attempts were made to contact the uncle of a woman who had passed away but the man was never found.

• A person called in from Jackson Creek Campground who had issues with a man and woman camping who were running around nude. The callers had politely asked them to put on clothing but the couple became belligerent.

• A person swimming near Fisher River Road called in about a mule that appeared to have been abandoned. The complaint was forwarded to the Forest Service as there had been many complaints of this mule.

• A woman on Wards Road called in about her husband who was intoxicated and out of control and threatening to hit her.

• A person called in from Montgomery Drive about a dog that had been constantly barking. He said it had been a problem for three years.

July 30

• A car wreck was called in from around Snowshoe Road. After the people in the car were administered to, the driver revealed that he had hit a corner too fast, spun off and hit a tree.

• A person called in from the Sandman Motel Down-Under about a customer that had stolen a blanket from the night before.

• A person called in from Highway 37 about two intoxicated people who ran their Jet Skis into the dock at the marina.

• A stranded motorist called in on Highway 37 and the Fisher River bridge.

• A person called in about a potential fire near the Ziegler lookout.

• A man reported that his brindle boxer ran off from his residence on 10th Street.

• A woman called from Pinewood Lane concerned that someone had put methamphetamine in her baby powder.

July 31

• A woman called in from Bull Lake Road about her daughter-in-law who was assaulting her son and refusing to leave the residence.

• A woman called in from Three Corner Road about individuals who were taking items from her residence and making threats about harming her.

• A woman from Texas called in concerned about her sister. She said she had not heard from her for two days and it was unlike the sister to be out of contact.

• A silver truck hit a delivery truck and took off. A man called from Upper Fork Road about someone stealing wood off of his property in the Yaak.

• A woman called from Farm to Market Road about motorcycles racing behind the old McGrade school. She said the racing was scaring her horses.

• A woman called in from Curley Creek Road about being assaulted by a neighbor and her son.

• A man called in about a smoke plume he thought was coming from the woods near Baldy Mountain.

Aug. 1

• A warrant arrest was made for Deaven Ray Conard with a bond of $5,000.

• A woman from Leisure Lane came into the Sheriff’s Office lobby to speak with a deputy about being assaulted by her boyfriend that morning.

• A man called in about his non-expiring trailer plate being stolen.

• A woman called from Education Way about someone camping on the private property behind her house.

• A woman called from Frazey Loop about two former tenants who she said stole from her.

• A warrant arrest was made for Michael Emmanuell Hawk with a bond of $275.

• An accident was called on Lake Creek Road. The driver refused medical attention and left the scene in a four-wheeler.

• An eighteen-year-old accidentally shot himself in the hand. The young man was transported to Cabinet Peaks.

• A manager at Empire Foods called regarding a shoplifter.

Aug. 2

• A dog came into a campground on Woodland Road and attacked another dog on the premises. The dog has been an ongoing problem for animal control.

• A woman called about her son who had run away from home. The son had stayed with friends at a local motel and when the friends woke up the next day, the son was nowhere to be found.

• A man saw someone steal from his friend on Idaho Avenue. He said he would try to talk to the man to keep him on the scene but authorities advised him not to do so.

• Cabinet Peaks called in to report that a dog had bitten someone and advised the dog owner to meet someone at the pound to quarantine the dog.

• A person called in near the Kootenai River about a dog the person considered to be in distress. It was later found out that the dog was just “cooling off” in the creek.

• A fire was called in at the Yaak Falls Campground. The fire was later contained.

• A man came in to the Sheriff’s Office lobby with a bat bite to the shoulder. The man had brought the bat in and it was placed in a plastic bag in the freezer for animal control to take later.

• A dog with a rope around its neck was called in near the Troy boat ramp. The caller said the dog looked sick and because no owners were found, it was taken to the pound.

• People who were floating on the Kootenai River were stranded after a storm. After searching for a while, the floaters were later safely located at a campground in the Yaak.

• A disturbance was called on Bowkers Street. A young man was banging on his mother’s door and she was not letting him in.

Aug. 3

•A caller was concerned with a leaning tree on Highway 2 near mile marker 34 that they believed threatened the railroad tracks.

• A caller was house-sitting for a neighbor on 6th Street and reported someone was inside with a flashlight. After calling the homeowner, she discovered there was a timer for the televisions to turn them on.

• The reporting party, calling from the Yaak River Tavern, reported someone had keyed his car and attempted to kick out the taillights.

• A man on Farm to Market Road reported his uncle’s Pontiac Bonneville had possibly been stolen. The uncle fell asleep and woke up two hours later to the car missing.

Aug. 4

• A caller on Mountain View Drive reported that when she went to wake up her son in the morning, she said the entire room reeked of marijuana. The son, instead of eschewing the typical “I’m holding it for a friend” defense, refused to tell his mother where he got it.

• A man on Main Street called to report a man threatening to burn his house down.

• A concerned caller wanted to report a 4-year old girl had walked into her house on Collins Avenue. The mother of the child shortly after made a frantic call to police and the child and parents were reunited.
