• Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.: The Libby Friends of the Library are having a book sale. The entrance is on Main Street across from the post office.  Stop by and check out the books, movies and music CDs. It’s a great way to support your library and buy some early holiday gifts.

• Nov. 11, the libraries will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day.

• Nov. 12, 4 p.m.: Troy Friends of the Library meeting at the Troy library. If you’re interested in volunteering, please stop by and introduce yourself to the Troy Friends of the Library. It’s a great way to meet new friends and volunteer in your community.

• Nov. 22, 11 a.m.: Join us at the Libby library for A Hot Drink and a Good Book, our monthly book discussion group. This month we’re tackling two books at once. The first book, “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet,” by Jamie Ford gives us a glimpse of the damage that is caused by war - not the sweeping damage of the battlefield, but the cold, cruel damage to the hearts and humanity of individual people.

The second book, “Bitterroot,” by James Lee Burke tells the story of old friends in distress. Texas lawyer Billy Bob Holland is called to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana to help an old friend who is attempting to mount a one-man campaign against a mining company. Holland’s Texas past follows him to Montana, too, in the form of a sociopath with a grudge against the lawyer who sent his sister to prison. Copies of the book are available to check out at the library.

• Nov. 26, 4 p.m.: after School Program, ages 6-12: Join us as we celebrate Game and Puzzle week by making our own puzzles at the library. Stop by and make a puzzle to take home or take to a friend.

• Nov. 27, the libraries will be closed for Thanksgiving.

• Nov. 28: Amnesty Day:  the last Friday of every month is Amnesty Day at the Lincoln County Libraries.  Any materials less than 90 days overdue which are returned in good condition to any of the three libraries on that day will have all penalties waived.  Overdue interlibrary loan materials are not included.
