Orville Habeck, 72, of Libby
Orville Jerome Habeck, 72, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at his home in Libby.
Born to Elaine and Horace Habeck in Fertile, Minn., on July 17, 1942, he lived in Crookston, Minn., and attended school there until his family moved to Libby in 1951.
At the age of 18, Orville entered the U.S. Air Force where he spent four years to the day. When he got out of the military, he returned to Libby, where he spent some time working at the St. Regis lumber mill.
In 1966, Orville married Evelyn Dianne Reisig. They moved to Missoula, where he attended the University of Montana. Orville later attended Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, and the University of Idaho in Moscow where he ultimately received his degree in elementary education.
After graduating from college, Orville taught school for several years and worked many more years driving school bus in Libby until 2008.
Orville loved his Lord and was a long-time member of the Nazarene Church. He loved all kinds of people and volunteered time working with children and youth. He loved his community and worked with the volunteer ambulance helping those in need. He loved his boat and enjoyed fishing on Lake Koocanusa.
He loved his family and is survived by his younger brothers Ron (Betty) and Gary (Evie); his daughter Michele (Mike); his son Brett (Janell); his granddaughters Mandi (Alan), Melody, Kylie, Hallie and Carlie; his great-granddaughter Riley; his great-grandson Zachary; and his half-brothers Bill Filler, Bob Filler (Sindy); and the love of his life, Dianne.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Services will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 23, 2014, at the Church of the Nazarene in Libby.
