Here is one reason I am voting Republican

| October 14, 2014 11:20 AM

I am opposed to any expansion of Medicaid because of the massive costs that Montana will face in the future.

Medicaid expansion would add another $99.7 million in costs to state taxpayers overall from 2016-2019, and then $343.6 million overall from 2020-2023, according to the Montana Legislative Fiscal Division (http://mediatrackers.org/montana/2014/05/29/montana-medicaid-enrollment-increases-renew-cost-concerns).

All Democrats running for state office, many whom are current or former educators, support expansion of Medicaid, while every Republican opposes it.  The report by the Montana Legislative Fiscal Division  mentioned above explains it spot on.

The Republicans have a better plan (http://rsc.woodall.house.gov/solutions/rsc-betterway.htm). A 181-page bill most people would be able  to read in a couple hours and understand most of it.

Title V reforms the medical liability law. The  Democrats complain about Republicans’ Obamacare-repeal efforts, and rightly so because Republicans have not advanced any alternate bill.

The White House has  reneged on more Obamacare regulations than it’s actually enforcing. Not a single Democrat would vote for this as you can understand it and they can not control it.

Last year, the United Kingdom celebrated 60 years of single-payer socialized medicine. Sir Bruce Keogh, a cardiac surgeon who has headed the NHS since 2007, deemed it an unmitigated failure. His 10-year study accounted for over 13,000 needless deaths or about three per day in each hospital district. Reform after reform have made no difference because it is a socialized system.

And that, ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages, is your future by supporting a Democrat. Also, your taxes will increase to pay for these failures.
