Elizabeth Riggles, 85, of Libby

Elizabeth K. (Liz) Riggles, 85, of Libby passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center.

She was born on April 20, 1929, in Lyden Township, Minn., to Stephen and Augusta (Gehrke) Hinkemeyer. She was the seventh of 16 children.

She married Harold (Hody) Riggles on Sept. 4, 1946, at Walker, Minn. They made their hometown Cass Lake, Minn. Liz was a full-time mother to their two sons, Harold, Jr. and Dale.

In 1964, Liz and Hody purchased and operated Harold’s Country Club in Longville, Minn., until they moved to Libby in 1971. Liz enjoyed quilting, camping and fishing. Most of all she loved having her family gathered together. She was preceded in death by her husband Hody, and her son Harold, Jr.

Survivors include her son Dale Riggles (Suzanne) of Libby; grandsons Mike (Kate) and Brad (Kim) of Kalispell; five great-grandchildren Taylor, Savannah, Aspen, Bridger and Hazey; and  two sisters Lorraine and Edna.

Services will be at 2  p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
