Sept. 2
• A caller on Pioneer Road reported an aggressive dog in his neighborhood.
• Kurt Eric Rossier, 47, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
• Brandon Huffman, 23, was arrested and charged with contempt.
• A woman on Farm to Market Road asked for help evicting her boyfriend from her house. She said he has a temper and is afraid of him.
• A caller at Flathead Community College reported a green van side swiped her car.
• A driver on Highway 2 reported that a dark colored Dodge Nitro 100 was passing several cars while travling at least 100 mph. The driver said the car was on its way towards Libby from Troy.
• A caller from Western Montana Mental Health reported a mother moose and baby moose were walking around the area. The caller was concerned that a man fishing in the back of the area had not seen the moose and may soon face serious peril.
• A caller on Champion Haul Road Bridge reported a car racing around the neighborhood.
Sept. 3
• A caller at Cabinet View Golf Course reported a truck parked next to the sheds. No one was around and the caller thought the truck suspicious.
• A father reported his son was driving on Kootenai River Road when a small truck turned on its high beams and charged toward his son’s truck. The son had to drive into the ditch to avoid a collision. In the process, the son took out a mailbox, but was otherwise safe and unharmed. The father could not describe the truck that attacked his son.
• A caller on Rawlings Road reported someone just drove into his neighbor’s mailbox.
• A caller on Spencer Road reported two suspicious trucks keep meeting each other in the road before driving away.
• A caller on Waterfront Road reported that he was being bothered by a person claiming he was owed a large debt.
• A caller reported two dogs running in and out of traffic near Shopko on Highway 2. The caller said one of the dogs was black and white and had two tags around its neck. The other dog was a small mix with a bit of white hair around its mouth.
• A caller on Dakota Avenue reported the theft of prescription medication.
• A woman found a female dog in Libby. The dog is a black lab with tags from Olympia, Wash. The dog’s name is Katie.
• A man reported being verbally threatened by another man at a truck stop.
• A caller near Highway 2 and Yaak River Road reported a minor train derailment.
• A caller from the Red Dog Saloon reported a customer leaving without paying for their meal. The caller said it was possible that the patron simply forgot to pay.
• A caller on East Ninth Street reported his car on fire. The caller said he believed someone dumped a substance on his car and lit it ablaze.
Sept. 4
• A caller on Lewis Loop reported trouble with a neighboring trailer occupant concerning parking.
• A caller on Dakota Avenue reported hearing someone shuffling around in his front yard late at night. The man said he did not see anyone when he aimed his flashlight at the front gate, but heard someone running away on the gravel. The motion detecting lights suggested activity as well.
• A driver on Highway 2 near mile-marker No. 76 reported hitting a deer and totaling his black 2014 Ford Mustang.
• Erik Daniel Lawson, 46, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license.
• Duane Michael Benefield was arrested and charged with probation violation.
• A caller reported a small brown car passing a construction pilot car near Lake Creek Hill. The caller said he was willing to sign a complaint.
• A man on East Sixth Street requested assistance getting his son’s belongings from a woman’s home. The woman was not letting the man inside. The woman told police that the man was taking her son and threatened to blow holes in her belongings.
• A caller asked for help collecting his truck from the landfill it broke down in.
• A woman at Empire Foods reported her car was damaged while she was inside shopping. The car that struck hers had already left the store parking lot.
• A caller on Reese Court reported all three of her vehicles broken into. She believed the crimes occurred during the night and was unsure what, if anything, had been taken away.
• A caller on Timber Lane reported that her daughter had just walked away from her house. The daughter said she was running away for good. The mother wanted help bringing her 15-year-old daughter back inside the house.
• A caller on Farm to Market Road reported a car driving up and road the road late at night. The car was driving very fast and creating a lot of noise. The caller said this was not the first time a car was creating a raucous when everyone else was trying to sleep. The area was checked for cars, but none were found making a scene.
