Pastor says train collision photo was in poor taste

| October 3, 2014 11:00 AM

The photo on the front page of the Sept.30, 2014, edition of The Western News was in very bad taste.

Don’s wife was not in town when her husband lost his life in a very terrible accident. Did she really need to see a picture of his burning truck on the front page just a few days after her beloved passed from this life?

I certainly understand the need to report the news. However, such sensationalism is quite crass. Did no one stop to think of the poor widow’s reaction?

As the pastor of both Don and Gwen, I am incensed at this lack of empathy. An apology would not be out of order, and an exercise of discerning wisdom in the future would be appreciated.
