Lady Trojans fall to Thompson Falls
The Troy Lady Trojans (0-4, 0-11) hosted District 7-C leader Thompson Falls (3-0, 4-4) on Tuesday. The Bluehawks proved too much to handle as they left victorious in straight sets, 25-9, 25-20, 25-6. The Bluehawks remained undefeated in league play this season.
Troy Coach Mandy Love said the young team is continuing to improve. The team suffered a setback when senior middle blocker Olivia Thomas broke her ankle in practice early in the season. Love said Thomas was the most consistent player on the team at the time of the injury.
“We are playing well in sections of the matches, but we are not playing consistently yet,” Love said. “We came out flat in the first set, but we really improved our passing in the second set and picked up a few blocks too.”
The Lady Trojans hosted Noxon on Thursday. The team travels Friday to Bigfork for a 4 p.m. contest.
The home match against Plains scheduled for Oct. 11 will now start at 1 p.m. Junior varsity will begin play and varisty will follow. The move was made to give the girls more time to get ready for the homecoming dance that night.
