Louis Bothman

Louis Bothman, Jr., 89, went home to be with our Lord Nov. 21, 2014.  He was was born Jan. 16, 1925 in Columbus to Louis and Rose Bothman. He moved with his family from Columbus to Libby in 1935 where he completed his education.  

He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II and served in Germany and France.  He married Edith Bache April 26, 1947. Louis worked in the woods and owned and drove his own logging truck, always a Mack, for most of his life. He completed his working career with St. Regis Paper Company.

Louis loved nothing more than the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors and fishing. His two trips to Alaska with his brothers were among his fondest memories.

Louis was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Edith; his parents Louis and Rose Bothman; and brothers Henry Bothman and Orval Bothman.   

He is survived by his children Louella (Mike) Grady of Veradale, Wash.; Larry Bothman, and Lee (Rhonda) Bothman of Libby; and sister-in-law Marge Bothman of Venice, Fla.;  three grandchildren, Heidi (Bob), Jessica and Paige;  three great-grandchildren; four nephews and nieces; numerous great-nephews and nieces; and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Friday Nov. 28 at 3:30 p.m. at the City of Libby Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home. Memories and condolences may be made at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
