Featuring some of the finest bluegrass music in Montana, Two Bit Franks is returning to the Libby at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial Events Center. The show will feature original music, classic bluegrass and some great adaptations of other tunes.

The Two Bit Franks is fronted by John Lowell of the nationally-acclaimed band Kane’s River, and brings together some of Montana’s finest bluegrass musicians. Mandolin player Tom Murphy, mandocello picker Kevin Fabozzi and bass player Russell Smith round out the ensemble.

The band covers traditional and contemporary pieces featuring creative solos, driving rhythm and new and interesting arrangements. Their music has pleased audiences around the state at events such as Big Sky’s Big Grass Bluegrass Festival, Missoula’s River City Roots Festival and the Livingston Summerfest, as well as many private events and parties.

Tickets are available for $15. Student admission is free.

The event is sponsored by the Kootenai Heritage Council, which is a nonprofit that operates the Libby Memorial Events Center. The council consists of a board and a large number of community volunteers who work to bring artistic performances to the Libby community.
