Joan Young, 84, of Billings

| May 30, 2014 12:37 PM

Joan Mossett Young, 84, of Billings, died Friday, May 16, 2014, at Valley Health Care in Billings. Joan was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Selfridge, N.D., the daughter of John and Barbara Kraft Mossett.

On Dec. 17, 1949, Joan married Donald A. Young. To this union three children were born, a daughter Lory and two sons, Bruce and Bradley. Donald died Nov. 3, 2008.

Joan had various jobs over the years. She and Donald bought a retail clothing store in Libby in 1971. They ran the store together until 1984 when they sold the business and moved to Billings to be closer to family. In Billings, a couple of her favorite jobs were doing product demos at Club Wholesale and shuttling rental cars for Hertz.

The last five years of Joan’s life she was a resident of Valley Health Care. She was a private person and preferred spending time in her room watching TV rather than participating in activities. Most of the Rimview staff got to know her well and enjoyed interacting with her.

Joan is survived by her children Lory Jennings and her husband Michael of Billings, Bruce Young of Laurel, and Bradley Young and partner Betty of Libby; her sister Jean Henneberry and her husband Ben of Billings; and three grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at Cremation & Funeral Gallery on May 22. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Rest in peace, Mom.
