Habitat for Humanity

starting new program

The local Habitat for Humanity is launching a new program: A Brush with Kindness.

Through A Brush with Kindness, Habitat partners with struggling homeowners to provide minor exterior repairs, painting, roof repair and other maintenance. Refurbishing homes has the added bonus of preserving home values in Lincoln County by revitalizing neighborhoods.

The first week in June, Habitat for Humanity board members will present informational sessions at the Senior Citizen Centers. They will explain A Brush with Kindness and have applications available. Applicants must own their home and reside in it. The selected homeowner will be responsible for a no-interest loan to cover the cost of materials used, but not the cost of volunteer labor.

The informational sessions will be on Tuesday, June 3 at 4:45 p.m. at the Libby Senior Citizen Center. The meeting in Troy will be Thursday, June 5 at 5:15 p.m. at the Troy Senior Citizen Center. Everyone is invited.
