It was just another day at the outdoor office for the Troy Trojans track and field team Saturday at the District 7-B meet.

Super sophomore Sean Opland claimed the top spot in the 200- and 400-meter dashes. Fellow underclassman sensation, Thompson Falls’ McKenzie Holt, edged Opland in the 100-meter sprint. Holt’s time of 11.33 seconds beat Opland by 0.11 seconds. Dylan Vaught, also of Thompson Falls, finished second in the event with a time of 11.39.

Troy senior Gabe Hickman also won two events, earning first in the javelin and long jump. After being bested by teammate Pate Scott in several regular season contests, Hickman’s leap beat Scott’s by three inches.

Nathan Olds remained consistent, clearing six feet in the high jump. Olds nearly earned first in the triple jump, falling a mere three inches short of first place by covering 41-3.

Competitors placing in the top six advanced to the divisional tournament in Missoula. Divisionals start Friday and carry into Saturday.
