Troy Lady Trojans Katie and Kellie Lundin continued a dominant tennis season Saturday when they went undefeated at the Western B-C girls divisional tournament.

The identical twin seniors beat Bigfork’s Kayla Casalegno and Alauna Weilacher in the semifinals. With the divisional title on the line, the Lundins beat Alanis Stallknecht and Brooke Bonner, also of Bigfork.

“Their serves are really on and they are hitting the ball hard,” Troy Assistant Coach Nancy Prieve said. “They have a lot more power than the other teams. They don’t look like it, because they are so skinny, but they are strong. The Bigfork girls were trying to lob, but Katie and Kellie can lob, too. Their first serve is a big weapon.”

The Lundin girls, as well as all eight varsity boys, will advance to the state tournament in Missoula. The three-day event begins Thursday.

“The girls took sixth-place last season,” Prieve said. “I know they want to improve on that.”
