Libby Schools will
provide free meals
Libby Public Schools, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program, will offer free, nutritious meals to children age 18 or younger. Adults can buy breakfast for $2 and lunch for $3.50.
Breakfast will be available at Libby Christian Church VBS at 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. June 9 through June 13. Lunch will be available noon to 12:30 p.m.
Libby Elementary School will offer meals June 9 to June 26, Monday through Thursday. Breakfast will be served 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served noon to 12:30 p.m.
Kooteani Valley Christian School will offer meals June 9 to July 31, Monday through Thursday. Breakfast will be available 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch is served noon to 1 p.m.
Yaak turkey
shoot cancelled
The turkey shoot scheduled for May 17 has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled. The July 26 turkey shoot is still on.
Wedel to perform
solo in Spokane
Megan Wedel, a senior at Eastern Washington University, will perform as a guest soloist on the trumpet for the Spokane British Band’s “Masters of Brass XV” at 3 p.m. Sunday at Spokane Falls Community College Auditorium.
Wedel is a Libby High graduate persuing a dual degree in music and psychology. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in music therapy or clinical mental health counseling.
Greg Gianforte
to speak Tuesday
Greg Gianforte, of RightNow Technologies, will speak at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Libby City Hall’s Ponderosa Room.
Gianforte’s business began in his basement and expanded to paying an average Montana wage of $86,000. Under the sponsorship of Lincoln County Community Prosperity Forums, Gianforte will explain how he was able to achieve such success.
The event is free and open to the public.
Profiles on African-
American Montanans
Lincoln County Public Libraries will host Humanities Montana Speakers Bureau program “Profiles of African American Montanans” with Ellen Baumler, an interpretive historian at the Montana Historical Society in Helena, on May 22.
The program will be at 6 p.m. in the Little Theatre. The program is free and open the public.
Retirement reception
for Superintendent Maki
After 46 years of hard work, Libby Schools Superintendent K.W. Maki will celebrate his retirement at 7 p.m. May 28 at the Memorial Center, 111 E. Lincoln Blvd.
