May 4

• A man reported that he went outside to walk his dog and found another man standing in front of his camper trailer. The man standing next to the trailer then took off running toward a neighbor’s residence.

May 5

• A deer was hit by a vehicle on Highway 56 near Savage Lake.

• A woman reported that her neighbors were shooting guns in their yard. The shooting started at 8 a.m.

• A deer was hit by a vehicle on Highway 2.

• A woman reported that her 13-year-old son was assaulted while walking between Highway 2 and Vanderwood Loop. She said it was the second time her son had been assaulted that week. The woman said the assailants were two to three men, possibly in their 20s, who were traveling on foot.

• A caller reported that their neighbor’s fence is falling onto their property, making their property unusable. The sheriff’s office called the neighbor to alert them about the fence.

• A bag of needles was found on the sidewalk near a local casino.

• A caller reported a relative had just “came roaring past” his residence at a high rate of speed on a motorcycle headed toward town. The caller was concerned for the motorcyclist’s safety.

• A Saint Bernard dog was seen running between residences on Highway 2 near mile marker 29. The caller said the dog might be one that was reported missing recently.

• A caller reported that a family was making a scene at a local grocery store. The mother was pushing and pulling the three children around, and the father was yelling. The caller was concerned about the welfare of the children.

• An anonymous caller reported that two dogs at a nearby residence were picking on a smaller dog at the residence, and nobody seemed to be doing anything about it.

• An officer with the state Child and Family Services Division requested a deputy’s assistance to remove children from a home in Libby.

• A caller reported a fire in the bathroom of a residence on Minnesota Avenue. There was a “great deal of smoke,” which was making it difficult to assess the situation. Libby Volunteer Fire Department responded.

• A caller reported being threatened by a neighbor on Farm to Market Road.

• A woman reported that her vehicle was missing from her home. The woman was in Helena at the time, but had heard from her neighbor that her vehicle was missing.

May 6

• A woman called from Post Falls, Idaho, to report that her ex-boyfriend who lives in Libby was calling and texting her continually. She was advised to submit a complaint with the Post Falls authorities. A Lincoln County deputy was advised of the situation.

• A woman reported that another woman keeps trying to damage her vehicle.

• A woman reported that a small trailer was missing from where it was stored near a storage unit in Libby. The woman is from Wyoming. Employees at the Motor Vehicle Division helped the woman track the missing trailer to Oregon.

• A volunteer with a child-abuse hotline reported that a 4-year-old girl said her aunt twisted her arm behind her back. The child has a bruise on her arm.

• A woman reported that her ex is sending her harassing text messages.

• Someone reported that they were digging in the alley on West Second Street and hit a water main.

• A caller reported tree branches were in the power lines on Nevada Avenue. Flathead Electric was advised to cut the branches.

May 7

• There was an incident at the Lincoln County Detention Center. An inmate was jolted with a stun gun and had to be moved to a different cell.

• A caller reported an orange and white object was bobbing up and down in the Kootenai River about seven miles outside of Libby.

• The Butte Police Department called to report a missing/stolen credit card was used to purchase a hot dog steamer, which was sent to a business in Libby.

• A woman reported that someone has moved a combine onto her property, and she wanted it removed.

• A woman reported that some people were at her residence and now $150 has gone missing.

• A man reported that another man had threatened to beat him up and was refusing to return items that did not belong to him.

• An officer was doing a probation check on Billadeau Drive when the individual took off on foot into the woods. The individual was apprehended and transported to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center to receive treatment for lacerations on his face.

May 9

• A caller reported that her friends had gone snowmobiling near Strawberry Lake and had not returned when expected. The caller was advised to call Flathead County dispatch.

• A man reported three stray dogs in his yard.

• A caller reported a Shetland pony was loose on Education Way.

• Two golden retriever dogs were seen running loose on Highway 2 near the drive-in theater.

• A woman reported a yellow dog was at her residence on Granite Avenue and had bitten her child’s fingers. Animal Control responded and took the dog.

• A woman called to report her husband had “gone off the deep end.” She wanted a deputy to assist.

• A man reported his son’s bike had been stolen the night before while it was parked in front of their garage on Woodway Avenue. The brand of the bike is Specialized. It is red and chrome.
